Looking after your Extensions

Professional Products

For gorgeous, long-lasting extensions, always use professional sulfate and paraben-free products. Applying heat? Don't forget a heat protectant to keep your hair safe from drying or discoloration. A dab of clear hair oil through the ends daily and a weekly hair mask will work wonders.

Brushing

Be gentle when brushing. Hold the attachment points firmly to avoid tugging on the wefts or roots. Start from the ends and work your way up to the roots. Don't forget to separate your rows and brush in between each one for tangle-free tresses.

Blonde Clients

Blondes, beware of avobenzone in your sunscreen! It reacts with extensions and can turn them pink—an irreversible disaster. Use blonde shampoo sparingly, only once a week if needed.

Sleeping

Before bed, brush your extensions and tie them in a loose ponytail with a silk scrunchie. Consider sleeping on a silk satin pillowcase to reduce friction. And remember, always dry your hair before sleeping—never go to bed with wet extensions.

Swimming with Extensions

Avoid getting your extensions wet when swimming. If they do get wet, wash and condition them with a hair mask as soon as possible to prevent dryness and damage.

Maintenance

To keep your extensions looking their best, have them moved up every 6-8 weeks.
